Everest Three Pass Trekking
The three pass trekking includes Renjo la pass (5417m), Cho la pass (5320m), Kongma pass (5535) in the Everest region. It is one of the most challenging and tough route to make a trekking. So very few people only goes through this adventurous trail. One who is eager to trek at this area should possess a sound and good physical fitness. The trekking route offers a magnificent view of natural beauty of high hills along with towering mountains. The trail goes through the Sherpa village.
Hence, the trekkers can get a chance to get cordial with the local culture and customs of the local inhabitants. We can see numerous monasteries and Buddha stupas throughout the way to the destination. Another point of attraction to this place is Sagarmatha national park. We can encounter with the wild life and different vegetations at this place. We can see wildlife such as musk deer, blue sheep, Himalayan thar, blood pheasant, crimson horned pheasant, and other many beautiful domestic yaks.
We can view Everest base camp, Kalapatthar (5545m), Mt. Pumori (7145m), and Gokyo Ri(5350m) and a outstanding view of green forests all along the way. The trekking to the Everest three high passes trek can be done by clock wise or anti-clock wise. Generally, March to May and September to November is considered as best season to have a trekking at this place. The trekking starts from Lukla with a flight from Kathmandu. We can visit the places like Gorakshep, Tengboche, Namche bazaar and other several places while making our journey.
Day01: Arrive at Tribhuvan international airport:
When you arrive at TIA, a representative from the trekking agency will be there to welcome. After receiving the heartwarming welcome from the representative, we can proceed towards the Hotel. The night we will spend at the hotel discussing about the trekking and preparing for the trekking.
Day02: Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek to Phakding:
After having the breakfast, we will escorted towards the airport as we have to flew over to Lukla for around 45 minutes. After boarding from the flight at the height of 2800m, our gateway towards our destination resumes. We have to walk until we reach to Phakding. We spend the night at the nearest lodges at that area.
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar:
We have to continue our way to the pine forests along with the Dudh Koshi River. After walking for several hours we can enter at the Sagarmatha National Park. Continuing our journey we can reach at Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar offers us with the magnificent and wonderful views. We stay the night at Namche Bazaar at the altitude of 3440m above sea level.
Day 04: Rest day
After having a trekking of over 5-6 hours in the stony trails, it is better to stay the day at Namche Bazaar. This place is also very beautiful. We can roam many places here. The rest day will also helps us to adapt our self at the high altitude where presence of oxygen is generally low. This place is well facilitated with government offices, ATMs, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants and many things. We can also visit the Sherpa community there
Day 05: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After walking for around5-6 hours, we can reach at Tengboche .We can view a spectacular view all the way to Tengboche. We can see mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, and a close view of other many mountains. We can see many musk deer, snow leopard, and other high altitude living animals. Finally we reach at Tengboche at the altitude of 3870m above sea level.
Day 06: Tengboche to Dingboche:
We can see many monasteries at Tengboche with beautiful paintings and pictures pasted on it. Then we continue our way up to the hills. We can have a close view of Mt. Ama Dablam throughout the way. After walking around 6 hours we can reach at Dingboche .There we can see many fields enclosed by stone walls to protect the corns and grains from the snowy wind and animals . Mainly the grows Barley, Buck wheat and Potatoes. We stay the night at Dingboche.
Day 07: Dingboche to Chhukung
After having a trek of about 3 to 4 hours, we can reach to Chhukung from Dingbouche. We may spend the night either at lodges or at camping. The way to this area is easy but some trekkers may find it inconvenient due to high altitude. The Chhukung is situated at the height of 4750m.
Day08: Chhukung to Kongma la pass to Lobuche
From Chhukung, we have to trek to the region of Kongma la pass situated at the height of 5535m. Further continuing our journey, we can reach to Lobuche at the altitude of 4940m. We have to trek around 6 to 7 hours. We can see magnificent view of mountains and forest throughout the way.
Day09: Lobuche to Dzongla
We have to walk around 8-9 hours to reach to Everest base camp. We may see Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, and Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, and other several mountains. After walking for several hours, we can reach to Gorak shep, we will observe snow- capped mountains around us including the top of the world. Early morning we make our trek to Kala Patthar situating at the height of 5545m,from where we can see fantastic view of sunrise. We should continue our way onto the high hills. After a short encounter with the nature we can reach to Dzongla at the altitude of 4850m.
Day10: Dzongla to Cho la pass to Thagnak
We have to walk around 6to 7 hours today. So we have to begin the trekking early in the morning. We can observe the magnificent view of beautiful mountains from top of the land. We have to go through the steep land so precaution should be taken. Continuing our journey to downhill, we can finally reach at Thagnak.
Day11: Thagnak to Gokyo
We can see a magnificent view of heartwarming mountains from here. The route leads us towards the longest glaciers of Nepal i.e. Ngozumpa glacier. After walking for a while, we can reach to Gokyo village where we can end up the day’s trekking at the nearest lodges or at camp.
Day12: Rest day at Gokyo
We can enjoy the whole day by exploring the natural and cultural beauty of the region. We have much more time to visit the Gokyo Lake. Furthermore, having an encounter with the local people will be equally enthusiastic one. The day is supposed to be a rest day but we also can have a short trek over the valley.
Day13: Gokyo to Renjo la pass
We have to start the trekking of today early in the morning as we have to walk around 8 hours. The trail heads us towards uphill. From the height, we can see a magnificent view of Gokyo Lake. After continuing the way for several hours, we can reach at Renjo la pass situating at the height of 4650m.
Day14: Marlung to Namche bazaar
From Marlung, we have to trek towards Namche bazaar. The Marlung is situated at the height of 4210m. We can splendid view of mountains and green forests throughout the way to Namche bazaar. After reaching at Namche, we may stay the night over there enjoying the pleasant environment presented there. We have to trek around 5 to 6 hours from Marlung to reach to Namche bazaar.
Day15: Namche bazaar to Lukla
From Namche bazaar, we have to walk around 6to 7 hours. Then ultimately we can arrive at Lukla. On the way, we can see beautiful monasteries, mountains and several people. We can spend the night at Lukla in excellent lodges with best accommodation facility.
Day16: Lukla to Kathmandu and final departure
It will take only few minutes for us to fly back to Kathmandu. During the flight, we can view to Kathmandu so we can spend the day visiting the cultural heritages of Kathmandu. The final departure will be at Tribhuvan international airport. a good arrangement of your departure is already done by the agency and will help if any problem arise for your departure .Wishing for a better further journey ,our magnificent trek ends here.
