Ganjala Pass Trekking
Ganjala Pass Trekking is one of the beautiful areas of Langtang Region which offers you the various mountain sceneries like Langtang Ri, Ganesh Himal, Lang Sisa, Chorkari Ri, Ganjala pass etc. Beside these mountain views, you can watch other 10 peaks over 6000m and the beautiful Helambu valley as other attraction. Similarly, the spectacular views of the ice fluted Gyanghempo couldn’t be ignored. Keeping the natural beauties aside, if you go on interacting with the local people- mainly Tamangs and Sherpas, you would feel as if you have got an opportunity meet the traditional people unchanged for centuries. However, the Tamangs and Sherpas here are quite different to that hills and Khumbu region respectively. Most often their culture, tradition and livelihood are quite similar to the Tibetan origin. The available centuries old Buddhist monasteries proves this place to be the fine place to observe Buddhist tradition. Similarly, as Langtang National Park, the first Himalayan national park too exists here. The wonderful creature, pleasant wildlife could be expected along with the flora and fauna, colorful rhododendron. Ganjala Pass wonderful trek begins at Syabrubesi and ends at Melamchi Pul Bazaar while you trek off Syabrubesi you could pass on following Langtang River unless you reach Kyangjin Gompa, where you can clearly observe peaks like Naya Kanga and Ponggen Dopku, just at the distance of 5kms. Further you can explore to find, Kyangjin Gompa being surrounded by Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, DrKeinmang, Loenpo Gang and Kangchenpo. This is the same place where you can find Buddhist monasteries and Swiss Association for Technical Assistance started Cheese factory in 1955. Through the potential place of Kyangjin Gompa, you would finally reach to the highest point of your destination ie. Ganjala Pass, which very far of human civilization
Ganjala Pass trek could be done by the medium of camping, as there are lack of lodges and quite adventurous than other treks in Langtang Region. However, as per your desire, you can further make the combined trek or organized trek to experience other various parts of this region.
Day to day Itinerary: Ganjala Pass
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After the completion of our legal and custom formalities, we can forwarded to Google treks visit mustang along with our luggage. There, either we can take rest or can have a short view of Kathmandu, that depends on your own interest and your condition. Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and Trek Preparation
We can have a shot and sweet sight view along to Kathmandu enriched with the natural and cultural heritages here like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath temple, Buddha and many more. At the noon, the pre-trip discussion is held where we can ask if any queries regarding the trip and then coming adventure.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi:
After having of hot and delicious food we will enriched us to move promote us to the north-western hills of Kathmandu. After driving to several hours, we will be at Trishuli bazaar and then we continuously step onward to Dhunche and downward to Syabrubesi at a height of 5100feet. The journey will be great fun indeed comprising the sightseeing of the Trishuli bank and the fellow travelers.
Day 04: Trekking to Lama Hotel:
The Lama Hotel situating at the height of 2,380 meters is our next destination. It may take 6 hours for us to reach there from Syabrubesi. The path goes along with the Langtang River with the cold breeze coming from the river. The trail is passed with the forest and presence of different flora and fauna. The suspensions bridges are of great extent here. The trails is either hills or sloppy but they will not create any hurdle in our way to the goal.
Day:5 Lama hotel to Langtang village:
The Langtang village is at the height of 3,430meters.We will be enrolled to our aim from the early morning. We will be following the dense forest with different vegetations throughout the way .But after a short interval of time while climbing over the hills the presence of vegetation will be thinner and thinner with altitude. After walking around 6 to 7 hours we will be at our destination. We will stay the night at the village.
Day06: Trek to Kanjin Gompa:
The early of the next day, we will be passing the meadows for Yak. We can see the largest Mani Wall where different prayers are written. The prayers are supposed to be blown away by the wind. We are now at height of around 3870meters so obviously we will feel suffocation and respiratory problems with the increasing altitude.
Day07: Rest day:
This day can be taken as rest day as we have to adopt ourselves with the nature .But we may make a short trip to Tsergo Ri. We can have a views of Langtang Lirung , Naya kang, lang shisha Ri, Penthang Karpo Ri and Dorje Lakpa and some other local mountains. Besides these we can entertain ourselves exploring the local culture, people, their lifestyle and socio-economic activities in detail basis.
Day08: Trek to Ngegang:
After walking for 5 hours we can reach to Ngegang. The settlement of people here is very scarce. The density of both people and vegetations will start to decreases gradually with the altitude. The less availability of people and their houses will ultimately results for no hotels and lodges. So we need to camp here.
Day09: Trek to Keldang via Ganja La:
We are now at the height of around 5100m. It will take about 5 hours to these trails. The way will be difficult with altitude. We have to pass several passes i.e. Ganja La pass. We can now touch the snow with our hands here. This place is covered with snow most of the moments so, a small vegetation is also absent here.. We can have a camp here to stay overnight.
Day10: Keldang to Dukpu
Now the way goes down to the forest area. The altitude similarly decreases to 4080 meters. We need to walk around 5 and half hours to reach at our goal. The day will be comparatively easier today. We have to walk the whole day to the grassland and in a very tranquil environment. At the end of the day, we need to camp at the forest.
Day11: Trek Dukpu to Tarkeghyang
Our way today will continuously descended downward to the height of 2740m. We can watch a spectacular scene from the region. From the pass the trail headed downwards through the pine forest, rhododendron forest and other different vegetations. We can visit the monastery and the villages at Tarkeghyang. The village consists of well mannered and well behaved local inhabitants.
Day12: Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang:
With the new destination we lose the altitude at 2621 meters. It will take four hours to reach there. The trails of today will be quiet easier through flat land and the clean and green forest. We can visit lots of monasteries and villages of different tribes at this area. We can see the Jugal Himal range at the north from Sermathang village.
Day13: Sermathang to Melamchi Pulbazaar:
It will take around 2 hours to trek from Sermathang to Melamchi pulbazaar. The way gradually moves downward to the Melamchi pulbazaar all the way through the cultivated lands and the cattle grazing meadows. Several villages fall on the way to the bazaar. Walking all the day won’t be that much tough as it will be compiled with view of mountains and interaction with the people.
Day14: Drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu:
The way ended up at Melamchi pulbazaar. We can take a transportation vehicle as for our wish to return to Kathmandu. The day at Kathmandu can be pass either leisurely or doing some visit over the town.
Day15: Final departure:
