Jomsom Muktinath Trekking
Jomsom Muktinath is situated at the northern part of the Pokhara. The trekking to this region is considered as pilgrimage trekking also. This trekking route offers the magnificent view of Annapurna ranges and Dhaulagiri ranges. Similarly, the traditional monasteries and the stupas are part of attraction of this trekking route. The trek begins from the 30 minute flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. The trekking route goes through the kali Gandaki River’s gorge joining Dhaulagiri and Annapurna.
The trekking route goes through the green forest of Rhododendron and oak. We have to walk through the villages of Tukuche, Marpha, Jharkot, Ghandruk and many more beautiful villages. Mainly people of Sherpa community used to live here. We can enjoy the magnificent tradition of Sherpa community while trekking through this area. We can enjoy the view of glittering view of mountains and forest alongside the route. Generally, the season of March to May and September to November is considered as best season to trek through this area. The trekking through this area is not at the high altitudes. So, we don’t have problem regarding high altitudes and suffocation. We can continue our journey in a regular manner as we don’t need to acclimatize ourselves while trekking at this region.
Our trekking route starts from Kathmandu after having the flight over to Pokhara and to kagbeni Muktinath, Jharkot, Marpha village, Ghasa, Tatopani, Shikha, Ghorepani Tadapani and many more beautiful places. The trek will concluded at Kathmandu after driving or flying from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu
We will be at Kathmandu after having the flight from the home country. Google Trek Visit Mustang will warmly receive you and will guide towards the hotel room. We will spend the evening by visiting the market of Kathmandu. The night will be at the nearest hotel at Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara and trek to Tikhedhunga
Early morning, we will catch the flight to Pokhara. We can enjoy the beautiful scenery throughout the way from the flight. We will be at Pokhara within a few hours. After getting off the plane, we should headed towards Tikhedhunga. We will have our lunch on the way. We have to trek for few hours to reach to Tikhedhunga from Pokhara. We will spend the night at the lodges at Tikhedhunga at the altitude of 1552m.
Day 03: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
From Tikhedhunga, we have to move towards down to the Burundi khola and then climb over to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is an interesting place with small shops and obviously the bravura natural views. Ghorepani is situated at the altitude of 2750m. We need to trek for 6 to 7 hours to reach at Ghorepani from Tikhedhunga.
Day 04: Ghorepani to Tatopani
From Ghorepani, we will continue towards Tatopani. The trekking route is about 5 to 6 hours long. The route offers us heart-warming view of snow capped White Mountains. After crossing several suspension bridges, we can finally reach at Tatopani. The Tatopani is a famous place for natural hot water situating at the altitude of 1190m. we will stay the night at lodges of Tatopani.
Day 05: Tatopani to Ghasa
Early morning, we will take bath at the hot spring water at Tatopani and will move forward following the kali Gandaki River. The trail leads us towards the Thakali village Ghasa. Ghasa is a paradise for birdwatchers. Ghasa is at 2110m above sea level. The trekking route from Tatopani to Ghasa is about 5 to 6 hours long.
Day 06: Ghasa to Marpha
From Ghasa, we have to climb the steep way to reach to Lete. The trail further goes through Larjung village crossing via Tukuche and through the beautiful Apple farm. We can get the close view of apple on the trees. We will spend the night at Marpha at the altitude of 2680m. We need to trek for about 4 to 5 hours.
Day 07: Marpha to Kagbeni
From Marpha, early morning continuing the path through the apple farm, we can reach at Kagbeni at the altitude of 2810m. After having the lunch at Jomsom, we will move towards Kagbeni. We have to trek for about 5 to 6 hours from Marpha to Kagbeni.
Day 08: Kagbeni to Muktinath
From Kagbeni, we have to follow the Kali Gandaki River to reach to Muktinath. The path goes steeply through Khingar at 3200m. After walking for about 5 to 6 hours, we can reach at Muktinath at the height of 3710m.
Day 09: Muktinath to Jomsom
Early morning, we will worship the god at Muktinath. Muktinath is important pilgrimage for both Hindus and Buddhists. After viewing the surrounding beauty, we have to move downwards to the Jomsom to the altitude of 2715m. We can enjoy the panoramic view of mountains by our naked eyes while returning back to Jomsom.
Day 10: Jomsom to Kathmandu
From Jomsom, we can catch the direct flight to Kathmandu. It will take only few hours for us to arrive at Kathmandu. From the flight, we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the white snow capped mountains. We will enjoy a relaxing night at Kathmandu.
Day 11: Final departure
After completing our journey to Muktinath, we will be at Kathmandu enjoying the refreshing morning. We have to pack our luggage after having the breakfast. We will be taken to the airport by the private vehicle of Google Trek Visit Mustang. A representative of Google Trek Visit Mustang will be there to help for any inconvenience.
