Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking
The Manaslu Tsum valley trekking is one of the isolated trekking routes of Nepal. It is newly opened trekking route of Nepal. It was opened for trekkers only in 2008 A.D. While trekking through this route, the trekkers need better knowledge about the climbing technique and should strictly follow the guideline provided by the experts. The facilities of hotels and lodges will be comparatively lower than that of in other trekking route. Google Trek Visit Mustang, strongly recommend to carry better sleeping bags or tent while making this journey. This valley is also called as hidden valley. The word “Tsum” is derived from the word ‘Tsombo’, which means vivid. While trekking at the Manaslu Tsum valley, we may see the marvelous view of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m) and many more Himalayas.
Manaslu Tsum valley trekking commences from Aarughat bazaar Gorkha after a drive of about 6 to 7 hours from Kathmandu. Google Trek Visit Mustang will arrange a private vehicle along with experienced trekking guide for your convenience. Throughout the way, we can see several villages along with different culture of people. We can make the journey more interesting by interacting with local inhabitant about the upcoming ways and the trail that we should follow for a better trekking. The trail goes through the Machhakhola, Jagat, Lakpa, Nile, Richet and then to Tsum valley.
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu
The flight of yours will be landed at the international airport of the Nepal at TIA. A representative of Google Trek Visit Mustang, will b there to receive or welcome you. He will lead you towards the best hotel of Kathmandu. The night will be at the hotel in Kathmandu having the fine dinner and a small discussion about the trekking to Manaslu Tsum valley trekking.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Bar Park
From Kathmandu, it will take around5 to 6 hours for us to reach at Bar park situating at the western of Kathmandu. The Bar Park is situated at the height of 2000m.WE will spend the night at Bar park at the nearest lodges.
Day 03: Bar Park to Laprak
The trail leads us towards the Budhi Gandaki River. After reaching at Budhi Gandaki, we have to climb uphill to Gupsi dada (3000m). The Gupsi dada pass Laprak from Bar park, we can have a mind blowing view of mountains ranges like Buddhi, Shringi, Ganesh and Langtang. From the Gupsi dada, we move downwards to Laprak to the altitude of 2200m.
Day 04: Laprak to Khorlabesi
From Laprak, we have to trek further towards the main valley of Buddhi Gandaki. We have to cross the suspension bridge here. Then the path leads us towards the steep hills at the Singla village. From the village, we can have a panoramic view of Himalayas. We have to move down to Khorlabesi from Laprak.
Day 05: Khorlabesi to Jagat
After a trekking of about 6 hours, we can reach at Jagat from Khorlabesi. The way goes through Tatopani then after crossing several suspension bridges from Khorlabesi, we have to cross several bridges along with the steep hills to reach to Jagat. The trail goes through the bank of Budhi Gandaki River. The Jagat is located at the height of 1410mabove sea level.
Day 06: Jagat to Philim
From Jagat, we have to climb to a rocky ridge to reach at Salleri and then down to Setibas. We can reach at Ghatta Kola after walking for several hours. From Ghatta khola, we have to cross the suspension bridge and have to climb up to Philim, a large Gurung village.
Day 07: Philim to Chumling
From Philim, we have to walk through the north. We have to cross the pine forest of the way. After walking for about 6 to 7 hours, we can reach at Chumling from Philim. The Chumling is situated at the height of 2363m. We spend the night at Chumling visiting the old Gompa.
Day 08: Chumling to Chhokangparo
After crossing the suspension bridge, we have to climb up to the steep hills viewing the Ganesh Himal and green forest. After walking for about 5 to 6 hours, we can reach at Chhokangparo. From there, we can see the magnificent picture of 3010m.
Day 09: Chhokangparo to Nile
The Chhokangparo is situated at the height of 3010m,so we may face some altitude problems while trekking through this area. The trekking route goes through Lama Gaon to the Rachen Gompa. We can have a short visit to Milarepa’s cave. Then we cross Shier Khola. After walking for about 6 to 7 hours through the main trail, we can reach at Nile at the altitude of 3361m.
Day 10: Nile to Bhajyo
From Nile, we are very close to Tibetan borders. We have to climb up to Mu Gompa. Continuing the trail will further leads us towards Bhajyo. We have to trek for approximately 4 hours to reach at Bhajyo from Nile.
Day 11: Acclimatization day at Bhajyo
The day, we will spend at Bhajyo on exploring the area. We are unable to find any people here. This area is very remote as only yak farms are built here. We can visit the glaciers of the Yamdro valley. The day is to acclimatize ourselves and to take enough rest as we can for further trekking.
Day 12: Bhajyo to Rachen Gompa
From the height of 4030m, we descend down to Rachen Gompa to the height of 3240m. The Rachen Gompa is established at 1905 A.D. the Gompa is extremely beautiful as its inner part is painted with beautiful pictures and colors. We have to trek for 6 hours to reach at Rachen Gompa from Bhajyo.
Day 13: Rachen Gompa to Chamje
The continue trail leads us towards Chhokangparo and after walking for 2 hours, we can reach at small Gompa at Gho. Then walking through the north route leads us towards Tsum valley and finally to Chamje.
Day 14: Trek to Bihi
From Chamje, we continue our way to the north in the lower Tsum valley. Crossing the large suspension bridge will leads us towards the main valley of Manaslu Buddhi Gandaki River and then to Bihi at the altitude of 3130m. We have to trek for about 4 to 5 hours.
Day 15: Bihi to Namarung
From Bihi, the initial part of the trail is flat and thereafter it goes through the uphill. Throughout the way, we can enjoy the exhilarating view of magnificent ranges of mountains throughout the trail. After walking for about 6 hours, we can reach at 2540m.
Day 16: Namarung to Lho
After having the breakfast at Namarung, we continue our journey towards Lihi climbing through the forest of rhododendron. We can see the stunning view of Ganesh Himal from here. After trekking for 4 hours to the down and uphill will lead us towards Lho.
Day 17: Lho to Samagoan
From Lho, we have to follow the path that goes through fir forest. A short trek will be enough to reach at Shyala. We can see the beautiful scene of mountains around us. After walking for 5 to 6hours, we can reach at Samagoan. There is a monastery which is well known from the name of Sama. The village is mainly inhabited by Tibetans.
Day 18: Samagoan to Samdo
After having the breakfast at Samagoan, we will move towards Samdo. After walking for about 5 to 6 hours, we can reach at Samdo from Samagoan. The Samdo is situated at the height of 3860mabove sea level. We have to trek through the route which goes through the forest of birch and juniper. Overnight at Samdo
Day 19: Samdo to high camp
We have to continue our way down to the Budi Gandaki River and have to move upwards. After walking for a while, we can reach at Dharmasala which is also known as Larkya Phedi. The night will be at Dharmasala. We need to walk for about 4460m and for about 5 hours.
Day 20: High camp to Bumthang
The day has to start earlier than ever. We have to go along path today. We have to pass several passes along with several glaciers. We can see the picture of Him lung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and many other. We have to walk approximately 7 to 8 hours to complete our objective of the day. The Bimthang is situated at the height of 3590m above sea level.
Day 21: Bumthang to Dharapani
The trail of today’s goes down to the hill. We have to walk around 6 to 7 hours. During the interval of the time, we will cross a great margin of height where we descend from the height of 4460m to 1860m. We have to cross the forest of rhododendron. After walking for several hours, we can reach at Gho village. We have to continue the main trail to reach at Dharapani at the height of 1860m.
Day 22: Dharapani to Ghermu
From Dharapani, we follow the way that goes through Marsyangdi River. The trail goes through Chamje and Jagat. After crossing the Marsyangdi at Syange, we can reach at Ghermu. From Dharapani, we have to trek for 7 hours. After reaching at Ghermu, we are at the altitude of 1100m above sea level.
Day 23: Ghermu to Besisahar
From Ghermu, we walk following the Marsyangdi River to Besisahar. We have to trek through several villages like Bhulbhule, Khudi and etc. we have to walk for approximately 4 hours to reach at Besisahar from Ghermu. We can see a big civilization of people here. The Besisahar is 800m above sea level.
Day 24: Besisahar to Kathmandu
From Besisahar, a vehicle of Google Trek Visit Mustang will receive you at Besisahar. It will take about 7 to 8 hours in the private vehicle to arrive at Kathmandu from Besisahar. The road comes along with Trisuli and Marshyangdi River. We will stay the night at one of the famous hotel of Kathmandu.
Day 25: Farewell program
We will have a refreshing morning at Kathmandu. We have enough for our departure. The Google Trek Visit Mustang will organize the process of departure. A representative from the Google Trek Visit Mustang will be at airport to help for (if any) inconvenience. We hope for your better and happy journey ahead.
