Mera peak climbing
Mera peak climbing is one of the famous and highest trekking peak of Nepal ranging its height of about 6460meters above sea level. Situating at the south of the Mount Everest, we can view a panoramic view of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Chamlang, and other several snow capped mountains. Our journey to Mera peak climbing starts from Lukla. To reach at Lukla we can either go directly through plane or we can have a trek through the Jiri to reach at Mera peak climbing. The journey depends on trekkers. If the trekkers have much more time to visit the area then he/she can choose the way that goes through Jiri. Otherwise, he/she can choose the direct way from Kathmandu to Lukla, which is comparatively shorter than that of the route of Jiri.
While trekking through the way of Jiri to Mera to Lukla, the trekkers can have a advantages to get candid with the beautiful nature of Nepal along with the splendid culture. We can have a encounter with different vegetation and wild animals while making our trekking. The height of Mera peak is above six thousand meters. So, there occurs a heavy snowfall throughout the year. While going through the trail, we need to have better knowledge of rock and mountain climbing along with rope climbing. We have to adapt our self to the snow; otherwise the journey will be proven to be curse to us. The best season to trek through this route is September to December and March to June.
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu
With the arrival at Kathmandu, we will precede our self to the hotel room. We spend the day at Kathmandu, viewing some magnificent places at Kathmandu. We can have arrest at the evening and will enjoy the dinner organized by the hotel later the day. We have to make a short discussion about the trip so that it will be easy for you to make the trekking joyful.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Paiya
Early morning after having a fine breakfast, we should forward towards airport to fly over to Lukla. It will take around 35 to 40 minutes for us to reach there. We can view a magnificent view from the flight as well. Thereafter, we trek down to Surke through forest. On the way we can see many villages, jungles, monasteries and mountains. After walking for a while, we can reach to Paiya at the height of 2730m.
Day 03: Paiya to Pangkoma
After having a wonderful; breakfast at Paiya, we should marched towards the downhill to cross Kari la pass . We have to continue our way to the forest of rhododendron and bamboo forest. We have to trek around 5 to 6 hours. The way goes through the bank of Dudh Koshi river to Pangkoma. We stay the night at Pangkoma at the altitude of 2850m.
Day 04: Pangkoma to Shibuche
The route now descended through the rhododendron and pine forest. We have to pass several bridges, ridges and teahouse along the way. We need to trek for around 4 to5 hours. Finally, we can reach to the height of 2745m at Shibuche, where we can camp for the night’s rest.
Day 05: Shibuche too Chetrakhola
After spending the night at the camp, we should continue our way through the narrow and sloppy trail via the rhododendron and bamboo forest. We may encounter with many wild animals on the way during forest. After crossing a nice stone cave, we can reach at Chetrakhola. We spend the night at the altitude of 3150m.
Day 06: Chetrakhola to Kothe
We resume our journey with the sun. From the top of Hinku Valley, We can have a magnificent view of surrounding nature from the top of Hinku valley. We can have our lunch on the way. After walking around 6 to 7 hours, we can reach at Kothe, where we can camp for the night.
Day 07: Kothe to Tangnag
It will take only 3 to 4 hours for us to reach to Tangnag form Kothe. The way goes along to the Hinku River in the gloom of Mera peak. We can see a beautiful Gompa on the way to Tangnag. We spend the night at Tangnag.
Day 08: Rest day at Tangnag
We have to take a rest day at the height of 4350m to acclimate our self with nature. But we may hike to char pate Himal glacier. We can see Mera north from there. We should be back to our camp and need to take proper rest at that day.
Day 09: Tangnag to Khare
We should proceed towards Khare from Tangnag. We have to walk for 2 to3 hours only. We can see much spectacular view there. We need to organize a camp at Khare. Khare is located at the height of 5045m above sea level. Overnight at Khare
Day 10: Khare to Mera base camp
The day begins with the early morning camp over to Mera base camp from Khare. We can push our self towards the steep route for about 260 meters. It will take around 2 to 3 hours for us to complete our goal. Since our way is on to the steep hill, we may feel little fatigue over our condition; also we need to learn some tricks to climb the peak. We will spend the day by viewing the beautiful Himalayan ranges.
Day 11: Mera base camp to High camp
Mera base camp is at the altitude of 5300m.From there, we have to trek around 4 to5 hours in the snowy highlands over the Himalayas. We have to camp at the suitable place on to the high base and should pass the remaining hour enjoying the sight of sunset and sunrise on the soaring Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse and many more. We should stay the night at the height of 5780m.
Day 12: High camp to Summit and back to Khare
Our day for the final destination is now. We have made such a long trekking especially for this day. If the weather is favorable, we should march towards the summit. It will take around 4 to 6 hours for us to reach at the top. For a successful campaign, we have to start the climbing early. The day will be the most joyful day for many fellow trekkers. We should be back to Khare.
Day 13: Kharke to Kothe
After the successful expedition to the summit, we can now return from our destination with a happy heart. We will enjoy or relax the day leaving all the fatigue that we have gained while climbing the summit. Many of us will be busy to share our experience there. Overnight at nearest lodges.
Day 14: Khote to Thuli Kharka
We have to climb around 5 to6 hours through the forest of rhododendron forest from Hinku valley to Thuli Kharka. We can observe the wide range of Mera hill from here. We spend the night at Thuli Kharka.
Day 15: Thuli Kharka to Lukla
After walking for two hours, we reach at zatrwa la pass. From the pass we walk down to Chutanga and then straight to Lukla village. We have to walk around 6 to7 hours to complete our objective. We spend the night at the nearest lodges enjoying the last meal on the lap of Himalayas.
Day 16: Back to Kathmandu and final departure
From Lukla, we catch the early flight to Kathmandu. It will take only few minutes. After boarding at Kathmandu, we will have a special lunch at Kathmandu .After a short break; we can headed towards airport for the final departure.
