Pisang Peak Climbing
Pisang peak is the most well-liked peak to climb by many people. This peak is on the way to the highest pass of the world that contains marvelous view of traveling around. It is situated at the Annapurna Himalayan range with the height of 6091m. Those trekkers or climbers, who are not experienced, can trek through Annapurna circuit trekking route. To reach at the base camp from Pisang village, we have to ascend to high hill for several hours. In 1955, a German expedition has commemorated to climb to the Pisang peak and since then it is being very popular day by day. We start our trek along the route of Besisahar. The trail is enriched with beautiful mountains along with different types of vegetation and wild animals. From the way to Pisang peak, we can see outstanding view of Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna Iii\I and Annapurna IV, Manaslu, Lamjung, and other numerous summits. The best season for this trekking is autumn and spring as it is very cold at winter.
We can see beautiful mountains throughout the way along with rice fields, waterfalls and green forest. Mainly Gurung people with Brahmin used to live here. We can also closely examine the local culture of Gurung community .Several monasteries and Gumbas are built here. We will find it interesting to visit all around the beautiful Gumbas On the way, we can see many shops and teahouses which will help us to buy some of the necessary commodities.
Day01: Kathmandu to Besisahar
From Kathmandu, we can drive through the Kathmandu –Pokhara highway all the way to Besisahar. It will takes around 6 hours to reach there from here. Besisahar is the working headquarters of Lamjung district. We can see some panoramic view of famous mountains peaks along with heartwarming natural beauty from here.
Day02: Trek to Bahundanda
From Besisahar, it will takes around 6 hours trekking for us to reach Bahundanda. We have to walk on the sideways of Marsyangdi River. Along with the nature, we can also enjoy the local culture and customs. Mainly, people of Gurung community used to live here. We stay the night at Bahundanda.
Day03: Bahundanda to Chamje
Situating at the height of 1310m, Bahundada views a fantastic looks. We forwarded our self to the Ghermu and to Syange after trekking for several hours. We can see a fabulous view at Syange all about the waterfalls and springs. Jagat is the next stop here where one can have good lunch. Jagat to Chamche is about at the distance of 1 hour. There is a good facility of hotels and lodges here. We stay the night at Chamche.
Day04: Chamje to Dharapani
After crossing the bridges, we can climb over to the Tal village situating at the height of 1700m. The presence of beautiful and breathtaking waterfalls is a key part of attraction to many visitors. We may cross several bridges between Tal and Dharapani. It may take around 4 hours for us to reach at our aim. Overnight at Dharapani situating with a altitude of 1900m.
Day05: Dharapani to Chame
From Dharapani, it will take around 5 to 6 hours for us to trek to Chame. On the way we reach at a Bhote village, where we can see a true picture of ethnic group of Nepalese community. We have to go through the pine and oak forest viewing some magnificent vegetation and animals. Finally, we can reach to Chame where we can see many offices along with shops and hotels. We stay the night over there at the height of 2675m.
Day06: Chame to Pisang
From chame , we headed towards Pisang viewing the glorious Lamjung mountain. On the way, we can see many lodges. We have to cross the longest suspension bridge of Marsyangdi river. After walking for several hours passing the cultivated area, we can reach to Taleku at the height of 2775m. Continuing our journey to through the forested and settlement area viewing some spectacular view of mountains and green forest, we can reach at Pisang at the altitude of 3300m.
Day 07: Trek to Pisang peak base camp
From Pisang, we continue our trekking towards the base camp. We have to walk around 3 to 4 hours. We have to walk through the woods to pasture land at Kharka (4380m). It will be better to establish a camp here. We will spend the night at the camp.
Day 08: Trek to high base camp
From base camp, we have to walk around 3 to 5 hours to accomplish to high camp at the height of 5400m. This area is mainly covered by snow during winter. We need to spend more time at high camp in order to acclimatize our self. We will spend the night at tent there.
Day09: High camp to summit and back to base camp
Today the climbing day, so we have to start our journey early in the morning. It will take around 8 to 9 hours for us to fulfill our aim. We have to climb at the height up to the 6091m. A good provision of rope will make it easier to climb the Pisang peak. We have to return back as soon as possible from the summit to the base camp.
Day10:Pisang base camp to Manang valley
We have to trek to Pisang village and to the Manang valley. The climate of here is quite dry and cold. We can see the local traditions and customs of people living at Manang valley. Manang valley is sited at the height of 3450m above sea level. The night will be at nearer lodges.
Day11: Manang to Yak kharka
From Manang, we will head towards Tilicho Lake and a short trek up to yak kharka. Yak Kharka is located at the height of 4110m above sea level. Yak kharka is a very beautiful place. We will be glad to stay the night at Yak kharka at the nearest lodges.
Day12: Yak Kharka to Thorung Phedi
Early morning ,we should headed towards Thorung Phedi which is situated at the height of 4450m.The way down to the hill is much more easier than that of uphill. Still we are at the high altitude, so we may feel bit suffocation while trekking at this area. We have to walk around 3 to 4 hours.
Day13: Thorung Phedi to Thorung pass to Jomsom via Muktinath:
After passing the famous pass at Thorung la pass, we should straightly forward towards Muktinath. After praying, god Vishnu there, we resume our journey to Jomsom. From Muktinath, we can enjoy stunningly beautiful view of Dhaulagiri. From Muktinath, we can catch a local bus to Jomsom.
Day14: Jomsom to Pokhara
After spending a night at Jomsom, we should headed towards Pokhara airport to fly over to Kathmandu. It will take around 30 to 35 minutes for us to reach Kathmandu from Jomsom. We can the outstanding view of mountains from the height. We will enjoy the night at the cities of Pokhara viewing the beautiful sceneries of the mountains.
Day15: Drive back to Kathmandu
After spending a glorious night at Pokhara, we should headed towards Kathmandu. We can catch a local bus . It will take only5 to 6 hours for us to be back to Kathmandu. The day we will spend by visiting the local heritages carrying the historic importance at Kathmandu. We will surely the delicious dinner organized by the hotel later of the day.
Day16: Final departure
This is our final day at Nepal. We have the whole day to departure. We will be boarded to the airport according to the time of flight. It will be fun indeed visiting Kathmandu as well.
